The Programme Implementation Board, established in 2017, oversees and drives progress on the implementation of the Mulvey Report and the NEIC Strategic Plan 2024-2027.
Mr. Jim Gavin was appointed Independent Chair of the PIB in May 2023. He stepped back from the position in September and formally stepped down in January 2026. The work of the Initiative has continued at all times and the PIB has been chaired on an interim basis since September by an Assistant Secretary from the Department of the Taoiseach. The Government will appoint a new Independent Chair in the near future.
The Board meets every month and comprises the key Government departments and agencies that have statutory responsibility for delivery of services alongside community and business representatives. The minutes of the PIB meetings are published every month on the Publications section of our website.
The Programme Implementation Board is assisted in its work by five Subgroups comprised of Departments, Government agencies and community representatives.
