The NEIC Intercultural Development Programme aims to harness the rich diversity of the area and the support the unique needs of ethnic minorities in our community. Through partnerships with local groups and organisations, the programme promotes intercultural understanding, addresses challenges faced by minority groups, and advocates for better representation and inclusion.
The Intercultural Development Programme focuses on a wide range of issues including improving access to information, tackling racial discrimination, capacity building, and enhancing intercultural competence. Additionally, this programme addresses issues affecting ethnic minority youths and works towards increasing intercultural representation in local bodies and organisations.
A process is underway since August 2024 to recruit an NEIC Intercultural Development Coordinator and team.
Africa Day
Africa Day is an annual celebration of African culture and community, featuring performances, food, and discussion on important community issues.

This cultural festival showcases music, dance and art from diverse communities.
Globetrotters Badminton Club
The Globetrotters Badminton Club is a sports initiative bringing women of all nationalities together to foster integration and community-building and to engage in active sports!
Intercultural Ambassadors
The Intercultural Ambassador Programme ran from 2021 to 2023 highlighting intercultural issues and barriers within the NEIC and worked towards a more inclusive environment for all. The group comprised of 16 people, representing 12 nationalities and 21 languages initiated and participated in a number of intercultural initiatives through partnerships with community members, groups and organisations. .
