Know any school leavers interested in becoming a Garda intern to help us keep people safe?
An Garda Síochána has launched the second year of its successful Diversity Internship Programme, which aims to provide school leavers from diverse backgrounds with an opportunity to be part of the organisation for nine months (from January 2023). This includes placements across the country in a range of positions and offers interns the opportunity to gain valuable experience working in a unique organisation.
Candidates, in particular from communities that have been traditionally under-represented within the organisation, have until 3 pm on Friday, 7th October to apply through www.publicjobs.ie. In addition, An Garda Síochána is scoping a potential pilot that would provide a pathway for those who successfully complete their school leaver internship to compete, along with Garda personnel, for Clerical Officer level positions that may arise during the timeline of this competition.
If there is someone in your family, community or among your friends who might be interested please spread the word. Equally, if you’re a community Garda please talk about this opportunity in the coming weeks when visiting local schools. All the details are here on publicjobs.ie
