The 29th of April 2022 is ‘Go Purple’ Day in all Garda Stations across the country.
Supported by numerous public figures, the day is an initiative between An Garda Síochána and domestic abuse services nationwide to help raise awareness about domestic abuse and all the local domestic abuse services and supports available to those affected in Ireland.
In addition, the colour purple was chosen because it has become closely associated with bringing about an end to domestic violence.
The newly opened Fitzgibbon Street Garda Station is the first victim-focused and community orientated station in Ireland and they are hosting an event between 11am and 2pm on the 29th of April 2022.
This will be a great opportunity to view our victim's support wing and our community wing, which are available to all of the community.
Light refreshments will be provided. Please RSVP in advance.
